The Liesbeek River Manager, accompanied by environmentalist Edward Tilanus, will lead a walk through the wetlands to mark World Wetlands Day. Come and learn about this important ecological and social site!

Due to climate change there has been an increase in frequency of extreme weather events. When these events occur our wetlands act like super sponges, thus absorbing/cushioning some of the flooding/shock, minimising the effect of floods in local communities.
