Help TRUP share the word, World Wetlands Day

February 2, 2017, 9:00am - February 5, 2017, 6:00pm

Due to climate change there has been an increase in frequency of extreme weather events. When these events occur our wetlands act like super sponges, thus absorbing/cushioning some of the flooding/shock, minimising the effect of floods in local communities. Come have a walk about the TRUP (Two Rivers Urban Park) area Thursday 2nd Feb - Sunday 5th February 2017, take selfies and pics of you out and about the area and upload it to our Face-Book page" W onderful E cosystems T ogether L iving A nd N aturally D epending on S oil and water.

TRUP River Clean Up...
When: Saturday, 7 May, 8:30am to 3:30pm
Where: Meet in the parking lot in front of The River Club.
What: We will be cleaning the stretch running from the River Club to the N2.
Who: Sybrand Strauss (071 067 1962 ) will be supervising the clean.
Drop in any time for an hour or two to help us clean, but do remember to bring gloves and boots that are up to the challenge! It's a large space, if you don't see us right away; rest assured, we're somewhere along the banks getting dirty.

If you can't spare the time yourself this Saturday, donations in any form (hands attached to able bodied workers, heavy duty trash bags, delicious snacks and cold hard cash etc.) are welcome.

If you have any questions on the day, feel free to contact me, Sybrand Strauss on 071 067 1962 (sybrand.strauss@gmail.com).

Please take note of the change of venue - we are NOT meeting in front of the Wild Fig, we are meeting at the River Club.

Join FROG for a planting party!
Picking up trash not your thing? Join the FROG (Friends of Rosebank andMowbray Green Belt) Path Planting party, also on Saturday 7th May.
9am - 12 pm.
We'll be planting along the newly cleared 'sun' path.
Bring your own plants from the list below or just join us to help...
we are particularly looking for more of the trailing spekboom.
